Sr. Cognos Data Warehouse Consultant

This individual needs to be knowledgeable in aspects of full life cycle management and must have experience in automating "manual" processes using Cognos and report writing. This individual must be "seasoned" as he/she will have face time with Sr. Business constituents.

Technical Skills Required
* 7+ years Information Technology
* 5+ years Oracle, version 8.x or greater
* 4+ years Cognos Impromptu, PowerPlay, Visualizer
* 4+ years Data Warehouse ETL skills, including Best Practices and approaches
* 3+ Excellent PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader development skills
* Knowledge of UNIX (vi, shell scripting, etc.)

Desired Skills
* Knowledge with ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage, XML, etc., are a plus, but not required)
* Ability and desire to learn the Energy industry.
* Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
* Familiar with Kimball Star Schema approaches
* Financial Experience
* Ability to read Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD)
* Knowledge of SQL tools (Toad, Rapid SQL, etc,)
* College degre


Business development Manager/Associate

Projectdesk Corporation is currently looking for Business Development Managers for its SF Bay Area operations, responsible to develop and expand our IT consulting activities.

Major Responsibilities - Developing a network of strategic customers and partners within the assigned territory - Kick-starting business solutions and deals - Applying specific business knowledge and vertical expertise in order to support the whole Sales & Business Development team within this specific area - Managing the relationship with local sales teams in order to leverage potential joint businesses - Working closely with Organization's functions to provide direction to the sales territories in developing specific business development strategies that address market opportunities.

Skills: - 1-2 years of directly related experience performing business development , market development , service and solution sales and consulting in complex sales environment. - Professional demeanor and style. - Ability to work independently and handle numerous tasks under pressure. - Strong communications skills a must.


BI Professional Services Consultant

This senior consulting position is responsible for the delivery of detail consulting services to customers and partners regarding Cognos, Business Objects or Brio's product lines and application products.

Responsibilities:
   -Develop business-focused solutions for customers using Cognos, Business Objects or Brio product suites.
   -Assist with customer requirements and scope determination.
   -Develop and implement application for customers based on identified requirements.
   -Assist in the development of best practices (i.e., white papers, presentations and methodology).
   -Provide installation, configuration and trouble shooting services.
   -Provide development, testing, implementation and rollout services.
   -Deliver demonstrations and proof of concept engagements.
   -Provide phone and/or email support before, during and after a project.
   -Provide pre-sales support including needs analysis, ROI estimate, implementation plan, customized demo's,
   and answering business and technical questions related to implementing the application.
   -Assist partners on projects, enabling them to complete the project effectively.
   -Train partners who sell and implement the application for their customers.
   -Provide technical consulting presales support.
Special Skills:
   -Ability to travel, on short notice, to domestic and international locations.
   -Comprehensive knowledge of UNIX and NT operating systems.
   -Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle and DB2 database systems.
   -Extensive knowledge of web architecture and concepts, Data Warehousing.
   -Java and/or Java Script skills are a plus.
   -Extensive knowledge of development methodologies and Business Intelligence tools.
   -Extensive knowledge of dimensional data modeling and CASE tools.
   -Basic knowledge of Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) strategies and processes.
   -Some experience with Informatica's data warehousing software products a plus.
Education / Experience:
   -BS/BA in Computer Science o Business related field, with 5 years of consulting experience.
   -Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology and web environments.
   -Some experience with Brio product lines and competitor products a plus.
   -Minimum of 3 years experience in analysis of database and reporting applications.
   -At least 3 years of experience in at least two of the following business intelligence and analytic application
   disciplines: Data Quality, E-Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP),
   Supply Chain Management (SCM), Data Marts, Query & Reporting, Meta Data and Data Transformations.
