Database
Management Systems Overview
Beginning Microsoft Access course introduces relational
database concepts and ways to get an application started
using MS Access, providing a foundation for database management.
You start with a review of fundamental relational concepts
and build a beginning application to be used during the
follow-up courses.
The course is for people who have never built a database
before, need a hands-on introduction to Microsoft Access,
or would like to have relational theory explained in a
simple, down-to-earth style using an applied approach.
In Data Modeling and Relational Database Design, participants
learn a systematic approach to database development using
entity-relationship models, normalization and relational
database design.

Introduction
to Oracle & SQL
Understand databases and how to use SQL to create and
manipulate data and databases.
Through use of a number of Oracle tools, you learn how
Oracle works, how to code in SQL and PL/SQL, and fundamentals
of designing and creating a database.
Through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on tutorials,
and class projects, you learn SQL and PL/SQL syntax; the
basics of database design and normalization; how to use
the Oracle SQL*Plus tools to create tables; how to add
integrity constraints, database procedures, functions,
packages, and triggers to the database.

Report
Building with Cognos Impromptu and Business Objects
This course focuses on practical application and in-depth
understanding of Impromptu, so that report builders, analysts,
and administrators have the ability to apply what they
have learned to their specific business environment.
Report
Building with Impromptu and then fundamentals and comparisons
with Business Objects teaches you how to create, organize,
customize, and format reports. The emphasis is on standard
and ad hoc reporting. You will learn how to meet the ever-changing
needs of your user community and accommodate potential
changes to source databases and organizational structures.

Cognos
Administration
This course provides new Impromptu administrators with the
skills they need to plan, implement, deploy, and maintain
an Impromptu application for users with a variety of reporting
requirements.
Following
a typical application development project life cycle,
participants learn how to design and build an Impromptu
application for a sample user group within an organization.
The course takes you through the planning process, from
identifying your users, their data requirements, and the
available data, to the actual creation of the application
in Impromptu.
Through hands-on demos and workshops, you learn how to
accomplish the specific tasks required of an Impromptu
administrator. You also learn how to deploy the Impromptu
application throughout the organization, and how to keep
your Impromptu application up to date and consistent with
the changing needs of your users. Because the requirements
of every Impromptu environment are unique, this course
emphasizes general concepts and specific skills that can
be applied to your specific environment.

Cognos
Powerplay

ad hoc query, multidimensional (OLAP) analysis and reporting,
with export to Microsoft Excel.
Cognos provides a way of viewing multidimensional data,
such as Product * Time * Units * Revenue, with the capabilities
of changing the parameters with just the click of a button.
Cognos utilizes the information within your current applications
and displays the data for effective analysis. Cognos also
works with ERP packages so you can maximize your investment.
Cognos PowerPlay is an OLAP application server for Web,
Windows, and Excel clients. It enables the deployment of
On Line Analytic Processing reporting across the entire
enterprise.

Oracle
PL/SQL Programming
This course enables participants to learn how to write PL/SQL
procedures, functions and packages. Working in both the
Procedure Builder and the SQL*Plus environments, participants
will learn how to create and manage PL/SQL program units
and database triggers. Participants will also learn how
to use some of the Oracle-supplied packages.

Oracle
Database Administration
This course is designed to give the Oracle database administrator
(DBA) a firm foundation in basic administrative tasks. Through
instructor-led learning, structured hands-on practices,
and challenge-level exercise labs, the DBA will gain the
